Does Silver Jewelry Suit All Skin Tones?

Have you ever bought a piece of jewelry you liked that did not suit you as much as you thought it would?

Your skin tone and undertone play a significant role in picking the suitable metal for you!

How to know your skin tone?

You have a warm skin tone if:

    • You have green veins on your hands.
    • You tan easily.
    • Your hair color is brown, warm blonde, or black.
    • Have hazel brown or brown eyes.
    • You put on a white shirt and feel like your skin is more yellow, or you feel. better with off-white or creamy colors.

You have a cool skin tone if:

    • You have blue or purple veins on your hands.
    • your skin burns quickly from the sun.
    • Your hair color is ashy, light blond, and black with a bluish hue.
    • Have a green, blue, or gray eye color.
    • You put on a white shirt and feel like your skin looks pink.

You have a neutral skin tone if:

    • You have blue and green veins on your hands.
    • Your skin burns, then tans.
    • If you put on a white shirt, you don’t feel washed out by the color.

    According to Grazia

FAIR SKIN WITH RED UNDERTONES “Stay clear of rose gold as it will accentuate the pink undertone in your skin,” says Blakeney. “Silver looks so fresh on very pale skin, especially those with pale or blonde hair.”

FAIR WITH PALE UNDERTONES “I am not a big fan of 18kt gold on very pale skin. Instead, I would go for 9kt or 14kt gold or white gold to keep very fair skin looking radiant and not pasty. Silver also is very striking on very pale skin tones.”

LIGHTLY TANNED, OLIVE, OR MEDITERRANEAN SKIN “You’re truly blessed in the metal department. As luck would have it, you can wear almost any metal and jewel and have it look flattering.”

ARABIC, FAIR AFRICAN, AND DARK AFRICAN SKIN “Lucky you – any metal will look striking, although silver can get a bit lost on darker skin, especially in fine jewelry. Gold really comes into its own though on darker skin tones.”

SOUTH-EAST ASIAN SKIN “I love classic gold on Asian skin. Rose gold also brings out a softness to this skin tone.”

Another thing to consider when choosing a metal is to consider your wardrobe.

Do you usually wear more cool-toned clothes or warm-toned clothes?

Your clothes, in this case, will replace your skin, and by picking jewelry that compliments your skin tone and that of your clothes, you will effortlessly elevate your look and compliment your skin.

Learn the rules, then forget them!

Jewelry is fun, and we wear certain pieces because of the sentimental value they hold, whether they used to belong to a loved one who passed, it was passed on in the family, or if a loved one gifted them. As long as you feel good and beautiful, wear those pieces with the joy they bring you.
